ST.PATRICK´S DAY (a little bit late)

St Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland. He is celebrated all around the world on 17th  March. This day is a holiday in Ireland and it is a tradition to wear green.
The national emblem of Ireland is the shamrock. Patrick used a shamrock to explain how the Trinity of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit could exist as separate parts of the same being. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on this day.
St Patrick is celebrated with parades in the large cities and wearing green  The tradition also says that those who do not wear green on this day will be pinched so be careful next year and don´t forget to wear something green  !!!

The cross of St Patrick is part of the UK (United Kingdom) flag, this flag has a name, its name is the Union Jack but we will talk about it other day.

LET´S SING TOGETHER!!

You Know we are singing the new coca cola version of the old Oasis song Whatever for next San José festival.  Watch the coca cola advert and sing the song practising the lyrics:
I´M FREE TO BE WHATEVER I
WHATEVER I CHOOSE
AND I´LL SING THE BLUES IF I WANT
I´M FREE TO SAY WHATEVER I
WHATEVER I LIKE
IF IT´S WRONG OR RIGHT IT´S ALL RIGHT

IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO ME
YOU ONLY  SEE WHAT PEOPLE WANT YOU TO SEE
HOW LONG ´S GONNA BE?
BEFORE YOU GET ON THE BUS AND CAUSE NO FUSS
GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF IT DON´T COST MUCH

YOU´RE FREE TO BE WHATEVER YOU
WHATEVER YOU SAY, IF IT COMES MY WAY IT´S ALL RIGHT (Twice)
YOU ´RE FREE TO BE WHATEVER YOU
WHATEVER YOU PLEASE YOU CAN SHOOT THE BREEZE IF YOU WANT

WHATEVER YOU SAY, IF IT COMES MY WAY IT´S ALL RIGHT

PANCAKE DAY

DID YOU KNOW?
This year Pancake Day is on the 8th March.
Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday (martes de carnaval) is the last day before the period which we, Christians, call Lent (Cuaresma).
Lent is a time of abstinence, so Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to use up the food that isn´t allowed in Lent. Pancakes are eaten this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during Lent.
It is celebrated before Ash Wednesday (Miércoles de Ceniza) and it is therefore the final day before the beginning of Lent.
It is traditional to eat pancakes in the UK this day and to take part in pancake races.
